Medical Center Hospital offers scholarships to applicants who reside in the Permian Basin area and whose course work will result in an Associate Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Scholarship payments will be based on tuition and required fees applicable for Texas residents and cost of required books. For Associate Degree students, payment equal to the amount of 100% tuition, required fees and required books for qualified courses will be paid by Medical Center Hospital directly to the approved institution. For Bachelor of Science students, scholarships may be less than 100% of tuition, based on the cost of the institution attended. Recipients must sign an agreement to work for Medical Center Hospital in a full-time status upon graduation for a period of six (6) months for each semester the recipient participates in the Scholarship Program, not to exceed an accumulative period of three (3) years.
The following requirements apply:
- Scholarship applications must be filled out and submitted to MCH Staff Development thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of class.
- Applicants must include a Letter of Acceptance from the specified program.
- Current official college transcript must be submitted. GPA will be considered during selection.
- Two reference letters from instructors and/or past employers must be included with applications. One additional reference letter must be from the Office of the Registrar.
