MCH Pharmacy Practice Residency Programs

Medical Center Hospital initiated its PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency program with two residents in July 2014. Our accreditation visit from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists for this twelve month residency program was completed June 2015. In 2018, our PGY2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Residency program was started.

The goal of our twelve-month program is to develop the knowledge and skills of residents so they may mature into confident pharmacy practitioners. Multiple means are utilized to aid in achieving our goal, and ultimately result in a well-rounded clinician.

As part of clinical development, residents will participate in multiple rotational experiences as well as design and implement new policies and procedures via the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Additionally, during the course of the year each resident will have the opportunity to develop, implement, assess, and publish his/her own research project.

Medical Center Hospital was founded in 1949 and serves seventeen surrounding counties. In the past few years Medical Center Hospital has been recognized as a stroke center, bariatric center, and diabetes center.
