Providing Emergency Treatment for Life-Threatening Conditions
The Medical Center Hospital Emergency Department is a 37-bed facility that operates 24/7 and is staffed with board certified Emergency Physicians. Emergency services are provided to patients of all ages from Ector and the surrounding counties without regard to age, handicap, race, color, national origin, religious creed, or ability to pay.
The MCH Emergency Department offers a comprehensive specialty on-call list to cover all emergencies including broken bones, illnesses, strokes, heart attacks, traumas, and more. Immediate medical attention should be sought for any of the following conditions: chest pain or upper abdominal pain, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, dizziness, sudden weakness, or change in vision. Patients with head injuries, possible poisonings or overdose, large cuts, abrasions, or suspected fractures, severe or persistent vomiting, suicidal or homicidal feelings should also seek immediate medical attention.
The MCH Emergency Department is a fully functioning, Level III Trauma Center, designated by the American College of Surgeons.
