Trauma Services
Trauma is a sudden, life-threatening injury that can happen to anyone at any time. As a Level III Trauma Center, Medical Center Hospital (MCH) is a leader in emergency and trauma care in a 38,000 square mile, 17 county area. Designation as a Level III Trauma Center verifies that MCH has the resources to deal with severely injured patients on a round the clock basis. MCH is committed to meeting rigorous standards in the areas of emergency department facilities, operating room services and prompt availability of medical care, as defined by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma and the State of Texas.
MCH Trauma Services is dedicated to the development of an organized trauma system with a full spectrum of care from admission to rehab. Our trauma team is notified when a seriously injured patient is enroute to the hospital. Before the patient arrives the team prepares for their rapid assessment and treatment. The trauma team provides quality care by coordinating the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team that includes an Emergency Physician, Trauma Surgeon, Emergency Nurses, Trauma Coordinator or Nursing Coordinator, Respiratory Therapists, Phlebotomist, X-Ray Technologist, Anesthesia Provider, Chaplain and Security. The MCH Trauma team provides quality medical care and leading technology 24 hours a day.
