Swim Lessons
Swimming Lesson Classes Offered
We have a variety of options when it comes to swimming lessons, from beginner lessons for all ages to competitive swim techniques and programs.
Our rates are $35/half hour and $60/hour session for members, and $45 per half hour and $70 for an hour for nonmembers.
- Water Shy Lesson (Private or Small Group) - This program empowers clients to get more comfortable with the pool and slowly learn safety swimming techniques. This program is ideal for any age participant who is not feeling comfortable with swimming or being in the pool in general.
- Beginner Swim Lesson (Private or Small Group) - Any beginner level swimmer will continue to progress through instruction over water safety skills, freestyle and backstroke swimming. This program is designed to create proficient recreational swimmers. Swimmers aged 4 and up are recommended for this class.
- Intermediate Swim Lesson (Private) - Intermediate swim lessons are available to help those who have shown proficiency in basic swimming. This program will help to further improve swim technique basics, introduce/improve at more advanced strokes such as butterfly and breaststroke, as well as improve the overall aerobic system for improved health and/or athleticism. Swimmers aged 6 and up are recommended for this class.
- Video Technique Development Lesson (Private) - This class is useful for advanced or competitive swimmers who are focused on improving technique. This allows our staff the ability to break down specific movements of each stroke and skill to better achieve the client’s overall swimming goal. Video instruction allows the swimmer to correct a mistake in real time from many different angles.
- Tri Swim Lesson (Private or Small Group) - We teach swimmers who are efficient at freestyle and moderately efficient at breaststroke to navigate the water in a triathlon like environment. More technique and set based swimming, to increase the athlete’s overall aerobic/work capacity.
- Masters Swim Program (Group Fitness) - Group environment program to instruct athletes with moderate to high intensity workouts, specific to adults ages 18 and older. All practices are led by one of our swim coaches and will push you to improve your overall fitness and stroke technique throughout the process.
Meet Our Coaches
Anna Beth Foyt, BS, CPT, PN1 & USA Swimming Coach
Anna Beth was born and raised in Willis, TX, where she began swimming for a local summer league team at age ten. She swam four years on the Willis High School Varsity Swim Team and eventually served as Team Captain.
After high school, she attended Sam Houston State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Minor in Education. Her coaching career started in 2017, accepting the head coach position at Lifetime Fitness in San Antonio. Anna Beth has competed on a national level for triathlons and has been recruited to the Tri Sirena Triathlon 2020 Team.
She coaches our private, group, and masters swim class, educating swimmers of different abilities and levels to improve their various techniques, styles, fitness, and nutrition.
Sierra Bruington, BS, CPT
Sierra is involved in many areas of our Fitness Department here at Mission Fitness. She instructs everything from private training and group fitness classes to water shy and beginner private/group swim lessons.
“My aquatics background started in serving as a lifeguard for 3 years, and realized I enjoyed teaching others at that time. My personal philosophy is that it is very important to not only learn how to swim but how to enjoy the water safely.”
